“On Cuba: Reflections on 70 years of Revolution and Struggle” with Vijay Prashad
Coming From Left Field podcast published September 9, 2024
Warm Greetings All,
Today's guest is Vijay Prashad, a historian, journalist, and executive director of the Tri-Continental Institute for Social Research. He has authored or edited 72 books. In “On Cuba,” co-written with Noam Chomsky, Cuban history is traced from the 1950s revolution to the present, interrogating U.S. interventions and extracting lessons on U.S. power and influence in the Western Hemisphere. This book thoroughly analyzes the U.S. government’s long-standing vendetta against Cuba.
This is Vijay Prashad's second book co-authored with Noam Chomsky. In episode 58, June 30, 2024, we discussed their book, “The Withdrawal: Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and the Fragility of U.S. Power” and got over 10 thousand views on all platforms. He has a large, well-deserved online following.

Vijay is a warm, generous person, a remarkable historian and intellect. His work with the Tri-continental Institute for Social Research deserves amplification, where scholars study the crisis of capitalism, the limitations of working-class struggle and ideology, and the rise of fascism.
Peace to you all,
Pat
